A Little About Us
The Canadian Menstruators are a group of feminists based in Toronto and Montreal who are frustrated by the discriminatory GST charged on menstruation products.
Buying tampons, pads, moon/diva cups, or panty liners is not optional. These products are an essential part of a normal, public life for people with periods.
To add insult to injury other products such as wedding cakes and maraschino cherries are exempt from GST. LEARN MORE
An online petition calling to remove the tax has over 73,000 supporters on change.org.
They collected 10,082 signatures that we tabled in the House of Commons on May 7, 2015. A motion calling to remove the unfair tax was passed unanimously. They are still calling for the government to remove the unfair tax.
